The TDI group, formed in 2020, was created to manage the aggregated rights to ATP Tour and ATP Challenger Tour match data. They also own a number of match streaming rights with the aim of making tennis more accessible to a digital audience.

Lampitt, who has a wealth of sports experience across the industry, was most recently Managing Director of Sports Content & Partnerships at sports data firm Sportradar. He is credited as being part of the leadership team that completed the company’s IPO in September this year.

He also spent two years as CEO of Portsmouth Football Club, seven years at the English Football Association and was CEO of Supporters Direct.

His appointment marks the first senior executive hire since the company was formed. As CEO, his responsibilities will include overseeing the central management, product innovation and exploitation of tennis data in markets such as betting and performance analytics.

Lampitt commented: “As a lifelong tennis fan, I’m delighted to be joining TDI at such an exciting juncture, as tennis looks to transform the way its data and content is leveraged across the modern game. I’m looking forward to building out the team at TDI and supporting the ATP and ATP Media’s joint mission to deliver the best experiences to tennis fans around the world.”

He will step into the role at the start of 2022.
