The first of which will see the global sportsbook operator have full usage of the Pistons IP, logos and marks, along with brand visibility and sponsorship opportunities.
As part of the sports betting partnership, PointsBet will also have the right to limited in-game, broadcast-visible digital signage opportunities. Company branding will also be displayed on the team’s website and social media channels.
“PointsBet is thrilled to partner with the Pistons, aligning with a first-class organisation supported by particularly passionate fans,” said PointsBet USA CEO Johnny Aitken.
“We’re proud to increase our investment in the Detroit and greater Michigan sports community after joining forces with the Detroit Tigers last July.”
The agreement with three-time NBA All-Star Hamilton, meanwhile, will see the former Pistons player serve as a brand ambassador and as the face of PointsBet’s Michigan-based sports betting products.
Hamilton’s “knowledge of basketball and more specifically of the Detroit sports atmosphere” is expected to help the company provide the most comprehensive sports betting experience for customers.
“Michigan is a fantastic sports state, and we look forward to the opportunity to soon serve Michigan sports bettors on a personalised platform with unrivalled speed and ease of use, now alongside both the Pistons and brand ambassador Rip Hamilton – a storied champion at both the collegiate and professional levels whose work ethic and spirited style embodies the PointsBet philosophy,” added Aitken.
