We made it to Week 2 of the NFL season, as we are treated to what should be a high-scoring NFC Showdown between the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles.

Last week, our SGP parlay failed to cash, which we hope to make up for it this week.

Week 1 recap

– Jahmyr Gibbs o19.5 Rec. Yards (Lost)

– Amon-Ra St. Brown 5+ Receptions (Won)

– Davis Montgomery Anytime TD (Won)

Ultimately, we hit 50% of our legs of the parlay, failing to cash the Chiefs ML, and missed Gibbs receiving props by two yards.

This week, our Parlay odds are not as high, as my main focus is to try and get us to the window and cash some tickets.

Let’s dig into this Week’s Thursday Night Football player prop bets.

Game Preview

We are buying low on the Vikings and expect a much better performance in week 2.

The Vikings lost to the Buccaneers 17-20 despite having more 1st downs and outgaining the 369 to 242. Ultimately, what ended the Vikings game was the turnovers. Minnesota turned the ball over three times, including once at Tampa Bay’s 26 yard-line. Anytime you lose the turnover battle 0-3, it’s tough to win a game.

The Eagles could be without three defensive starters in tonight’s game. Starting Cornerback James Bradberry and Safety Reed Blankenship are officially ruled out, while DT Fletcher Cox is listed as Questionable.

Late Sunday night, this game opened with the Eagles being 7.5 favorites. At the time of writing, this line has moved below a touchdown, with some places having the Eagles as low as 6-point favorites. As the line suggests, I think the game will be much closer than people think, with the Vikings having a shot to win outright.

Vikings vs. Eagles Player Prop Bets

Justin Jefferson Anytime Touchdown

As mentioned above, the Eagles will be without two starting defensive backs, and Minnesota’s priority should be trying to take advantage of that. If the Vikings have any shot at keeping up with the Eagles and winning this game, they need to find Jefferson in the endzone.

Jefferson had 9 catches for 150 yards last week but failed to record a TD. Look for Jefferson to get his first score of the 2023 season tonight.

Leg 3: Dallas Goedert 25+ Receiving Yards

Dallas Goedert laid a goose egg last week against the New England Patriots. Goedert was nowhere to be found in week one as he was held catchless on one target.

Head Coach Nick Sirianni understands the importance of getting the ball to his TE. The Eagles Head Coach has this to say about the situation, “We can’t go a game without getting him the football,” Sirianni said after the win. “He’s too good of a playmaker, but there are some things that the Patriots did that made it difficult for us to be able to get him some quick, easy touches.”

Devonta Smith was in this same situation last season; Smith was held catch-less in the Eagles’ season opener, and then in Week 2 against the Vikings, Smith had 7 catches for 80 yards.

Look for the offense to get Goedert involved early and often.
